Honest Tea boasts about how their tea is "Just a tad sweet" but is it?
I just looked at how much sugar is in one bottle of Pomegranate Blue Flavored Herbal Tea and to my surprise there was 23 grams of sugar.
That is approximately 6 teaspoons (5.75) of sugar !!
Try visualizing 6 teaspoons of sugar in a cup of water, would you drink it?
Now to be clear I am not attacking Honest Tea, im just pointing out that 5.75 teaspoons of sugar is not a "tad" of sweet in my book.
Of course Snapple and some other companies have more in some of their teas.(36 grams = 9 teaspoons of sugar in their raspberry tea !! )
It's best to avoid all sweetened drinks.
Water is best. If you like flavored water try squeezing a little lemon or lime in your drink.
Alternately you can put a little vitamin c powder in your water (no more than a 1/4 teaspoon) which will give it a tangy lime like taste while giving you all the amazing health benefits of vitamin c :)
Fresh vegetable juice in a powerful blender like a vitamix or a nutribullet is also great because it will include the pulp.
Try adding a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil and a pinch of good quality salt like Himalayan or Celtic sea salt to amp up the flavor :)
